Why does my Android disconnect from the Sensi network during the connection process?

When using an Android device to complete the connection process, you may need to change the “Avoid Poor Connection” or the “Smart Network Switch” setting within your device Wi-Fi advanced settings. These settings are designed to block a weak internet connection and should be turned off during the provisioning process. Follow the steps below to ensure your device connects to the Sensi network.

  1. Press your phone’s Settings.
  2. Press Wi-Fi.
  3. You may have an option to select “Advanced” or “Advanced Wi-Fi” or “Smart Network Switch.”
    • If you have “Smart Network Switch,” press that option, and disable it.
  4. Scroll through your advanced Wi-Fi options. If you see anything called “avoid poor connections,” disable it.

Go back to the Sensi app and begin the connection process again. Your device should now maintain a connection with the Sensi network until the thermostat can connect to your home Wi-Fi network in the next connection step.

You can turn these advanced Wi-Fi features back on after you’ve connected your thermostat to Wi-Fi.
