How to reconnect Sensi Thermostat to Wi-Fi

Sensi Smart Thermostat

If you replaced your router, changed to a new Wi-Fi network, or updated your current Wi-Fi network’s password, you’ll need to reconnect your Sensi thermostat to Wi-Fi.

To reconnect using an iOS device, determine what type of Sensi you have first:

  1. On the thermostat itself, press “Menu.”
  2. Press “Connect.”
  3. What display do you see? There are 3 different options:
    • Display is blank
    • Display shows 00
    • Display shows 11
    • Display shows 22

Display shows 11 or 22:

  1. Open your Wi-Fi Settings on your iOS device.
  2. Ensure that your iOS device is already connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network for setup. If you’re connected to a 5GHz network, “forget” it for setup, and connect to a 2.4GHz network.
  3. Scroll down until you see “Set up a new device…” You should see Sensi-XXXXXX underneath.
  4. Tap Sensi-XXXXXX.
  5. Your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network should already be checked. Tap Next.
  6. It may take up to 5 minutes to setup.
  7. Tap Done.

Display is blank or shows 00:

  1. Open the Sensi app on your iOS device.
  2. Tap the + sign.
  3. Choose the option, “Yes, it is on the wall.”
  4. Make sure you’ve already pressed “Menu” and then “Connect” on the thermostat. The Wi-Fi icon should be flashing.
  5. Look at your thermostat screen and select the correct model option (thermostat screen will be blank, or display a “00”)
  6. The app will bring you to a page with several steps. Tap the Home button on your iPhone/iPad and go into your phone’s Wi-Fi Settings.
  7. You will see the Sensi network. Tap Sensi-XXXXXX and “join” that network. The Sensi network password is the Security Code that came on a black card in the packaging.
    • If you don’t have the card anymore, the Security Code is also found on the back of the thermostat face plate.
  8. Once you have the blue check mark next to the Sensi network, return to the Sensi app. You can now move to the next screen.
  9. Select your home Wi-Fi network.
  10. Enter the password for your Wi-Fi network.

After completing these steps, you should be reconnected, and can now access your thermostat.
