Back Glow – Sensi Touch Smart Thermostat

Sensi Touch does not have a backlit screen option, but there is a light on the back of the sub-base that you can use to illuminate the thermostat. Its main purpose is to light the sub-base during installation, but you can use it afterwards as well.

When mounting Sensi Touch’s sub-base on the wall, you can flip the Back Glow switch On, and the LED will illuminate so you can better see the wires for installation.

While no wires are attached, the Back Glow will only last for a few hours. It’s powered by a battery in the sub-base. This battery cannot be replaced, and it will burn out after a few hours. Once you have the “C”/common wire in, and the Sensi Touch face plate on the wall, the LED light is powered by the HVAC system.

Once the Sensi Touch is installed and, on the wall, make sure the switch is Off on the sub-base, and you can control Back Glow from the thermostat menu:

  • At the thermostat, press Menu.
  • Press Back Glow.
  • Toggle On/Off.
