Smart Home

What if my Sensi thermostat is in geofencing mode, but someone at home manually changes the thermostat’s set point or mode?

Manually changing set point at thermostat

If you are in geofencing and leave your 3-mile home boundary, your set point will raise or lower 3 degrees depending on what mode you are in. If someone at your home manually changes the temperature setting, the thermostat will allow this change to take place. When you cross back into your 3-mile home boundary, your temperature setting will change back to the temperature setting it was when you originally left your home boundary.

Manually changing between heating and cooling mode at thermostat

If you are in geofencing and leave your 3-mile home boundary, your set point will raise or lower 3 degrees depending on what mode you are in. If someone at your home manually changes the mode from heating to cooling or visa versa, this overrides the geofencing feature. When you return home, the temperature will not change from where it was manually set. The geofencing feature will resume normal operation from this new mode and temperature point.
