What do the LED Lights on my Equipment Interface Module (EIM) Indicate?
The EIM has several LED lights to indicate if the EIM is working properly.
- Power Button
- In the upper left-hand corner of the EIM you will see a power button. If that is lit up blue that means you have power to the EIM.
- If the power button is not lit up, check your system and connections to ensure the EIM is getting power. The EIM needs 24 volts to power on.
- Location Status Indicators
- In the lower left-hand corner, you have location status indicators labeled indoor and outdoor. Each one has an LED light above it.
- If the LED lights are solid red, then the EIM is not connected to the thermostat.
- Press and hold the RESET button to restart the pairing process. The LED lights will start flashing green when the paring process has started.
- Once the pairing process is complete the LED lights will be solid green.
- Accessories and System LED Lights
- Under the accessories and systems labels, each terminal has an LED light.
- When the terminal is energized (for example a call for heat is made) the LED will light up green to indicate that a call was made.
- If the LED does not light up and you do not hear your system start it could be due to one of the following items.
- Blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker.
- Furnace power is turned off.
- The furnace blower compartment door panel is loose.
- Loose connection to the thermostat or system.
- Under the accessories and systems labels, each terminal has an LED light.
*If your EIM is not functioning properly it is best to consult with your HVAC technician.
