How do I set up my Sensi thermostat to work with Amazon Alexa?

Sensi thermostats can be directly controlled through Amazon Alexa.

To get started:

1. Download the Sensi app, create a Sensi account, and register your Sensi thermostat through the Sensi app. Note: you must have a registered Sensi account to set up your thermostat to work with Amazon Alexa services.
2. Set up your Alexa-enabled device and download the Amazon Alexa app.

To directly control your Sensi thermostat with Amazon Alexa:

1. Open the Sensi app.
2. Tap the person icon (iOS) or the three vertical dots (Android).
3. Tap Smart Integrations.
4. Tap Amazon Alexa.

iOS

• Sign in to your Sensi account, and tap Link.

That's all you need to do. Once you open the Alexa app, you'll see your thermostats under "Devices".

Android

• After tapping Amazon Alexa, you're taken to the Sensi skill inside the Alexa app. 
• Tap Enable. 
• Enter your Sensi email and password and tap Sign In (Be sure to not have extra spaces before or after your email or password.)
• After you see confirmation that Alexa has been linked with your Sensi thermostat, tap the “X” in the upper right corner
• A “Discover Devices” box will pop up. Select Discover Devices OR say, “Alexa, discover new devices.” The app will show a progress bar while Alexa is looking for devices. Wait for the “Discovery Complete” message. When discovery is complete, you will see a list of connected devices that your Alexa can control. You should now see your Sensi thermostat in this list, and will be able to interact verbally with your Sensi thermostat. Please see note below.

*NOTE: when Alexa finds your Sensi thermostat, the Alexa app will display the thermostat by the name you have previously given your Sensi thermostat. When giving commands to your Sensi thermostat through Alexa, you will need to remember the name you’ve given your thermostat. If you want to change the name of your thermostat, you will need to do this in your Sensi app.

With your Sensi thermostat connected to your Amazon device, you can control your thermostat verbally with these commands.

Still having troubles?

If you have trouble with any of these instructions, you can also sync your Sensi to Alexa from the Alexa app. 

1. Open the Alexa app.
2. Tap Skills & Games.
3. Search the skills for "Sensi".
4. Enable the Sensi skill.
5. Enter your Sensi email and password and tap Sign In (Be sure to not have extra spaces before or after your email or password).
6. After you see confirmation that Alexa has been linked with your Sensi thermostat, tap the "X" in the upper right corner.
7. A "Discover Devices" box will pop up. Select Devices Devices OR say, "Alexa, discover new devices". The app will show a progress bar while Alexa is looking for devices. Wait for the "Discovery Complete" message. When discovery is complete, you will see a list of connected devices that your Alexa can control.
